Because of their positive, caring attitude and training, they help insure surgery goes well and you recover quickly. Most joint replacement patients spend only about 1 day in the hospital.

Diagnostic Imaging – our dedicated 8,000-square-foot-center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and highly trained staff equal what you find at the nation’s best urban and surburan hospitals. Imaging services include X-rays, digital mammograms, breast MRIs, CT scans, ultrasound, bone density testing, fluoroscopy and MRI Scans.

Infection control – of critical importance to a successful recovery is maintaining a low rate of hospital-acquired infections following surgery. Thanks to Infection Control Officer Emmet O’Connell zeal for perfection, MCDH is ranks among the nation’s best hospitals with less than 1 infection for every 200 patient days — close to zero.  O’Connell intends to reach zero with a focus on hand-hygiene, vaccinations, good ‘cough etiquette’, workplace cleaning disinfection and utilization of isolation protocols to prevent transmission of disease.

Integrative Medicine – we offer hypnotherapy to create relaxation and promote a healing attitude, as well as guided imagery audio tapes to explain what to expect and to encourage a positive attitude. Acupuncture also is available.

Rehabilitation Services – our rehabilitation therapists get patient raves for expertise and caring attitude. That’s why we like to say that we provide big city medicine with small town comfort. You’ll be treated well – like a family member or friend – with care provided by highly trained therapists. To support your recovery is a rehab gym, which is open to patients, former patients and employees. The staff includes physical and occupational therapists, a specialist in hand therapy, a wellness coach, a pilates instructor, and an expert in providing foot and leg support devices.
