News Media Contact: Bruce Lewis, 707-813-1197

What: Mendocino Coast District Hospital Hospice is seeking Compassionate Companion volunteers for its “No One Dies Alone” Program. This is a new program to provide the reassuring presence of a volunteer companion to dying patients who would otherwise be alone at the hospital.

When/Where: A two-part Compassionate Companion Volunteer orientation class will be held in May 2011 in the Redwoods Room at Mendocino Coast District Hospital. After completing the orientation, volunteers may sign up to be part of an on-call team of companions that provides 24-hour bedside coverage in two-hour shifts.

For more information, or to sign up for the orientation classes: contact Rev. Tanya Wyldflower, MCDH Chaplain Coordinator at 961-1234, ext 208.
