“Pardon Our Dust:” MCDH construction continues
6/3/05

Patients arriving at the hospital for outpatient services, such as lab or x-ray, will notice that the entrance to the South Lobby is closed for construction. Beginning this week, construction of the connecting corridor between the new Patient Services Building and the main hospital building will get underway.

Patients who need to register for their outpatient procedures should enter through the hospital’s main entrance at the North Lobby. Directional signs and volunteers will be present to guide patients to the South Lobby registration area.

The connecting corridor should take six to eight weeks to complete, and is a final element in the completion of the Patient Services Building. Once the connecting corridor is complete, all outpatient and inpatient registration will take place in the new Patient Services Building.

The connecting corridor required review and approval by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). This approval process is lengthy, and is the reason that the corridor has not been constructed before this point.

Also during the next six to eight weeks, the canopy over the main entrance to the new Patient Services Building will be built. During the canopy’s construction, community members will still be able to utilize this entrance to reach physical therapy, speech and occupational therapies, the foot clinic, and the billing and finance departments.
