I would like to express my appreciation for the quality of your blogs, and the easy to navigate, user friendly website for a hospital for which I have great affection . As a former employee, I am always interested in the progress of the hospital and the community it serves. As a 20 year Winesong volunteer, I would like to congratulate you on another successful event. Additionally, it was so nice to see Bettie Shandel awarded employee of the year in July. What a dedicated nursing professional and community advocate she has been over the years! It was nice to learn that Karen Harris, Linda Royat, Jim Gay and Lynn Ryerson are still providing service to the community. I remember when Dana and Shelley were new grads! Where does the time go?

You are absolutely correct in sharing that the people at MCDH have been caring for the community for years. I was privileged to be a part of that caring culture for a brief time, and it is why I return every autumn to volunteer. Thank you for leading and supporting the staff and advocating for healthcare excellence on the coast. My only regret is that there are no career opportunities for me there, but by reading your blogs and touching base periodically with people like Marcia Weeks, Michelle Philliber and Kitty Bruning, I am comforted that the facility is doing well, and that the caring only improves.

Once again, thank you. Best wishes in your attempt to reverse the findings from the state and the unfortunate fine. May the upcoming holidays be pleasant and healthy ones for you and the staff and may you enjoy continued excelence in the business of caring. Respectfully, Mrf

Thanks for this explanation. I’ve been away from the coast for a week and have not seen this week’s Advocate yet, so I have no idea if there’s has been a second article. I was dismayed by the Advocate’s article last week, having such a wonderful experience of with son’s birth at MCH. It’s been many years since that event, but I support you and appreciate the wonderful care I personally have received at MCH. We are fortunate to have these services locally available to us in this community.
