It’s hard to believe that summer is beginning to wind down already. Soon it will be time for packing school lunches and settling back into our busy fall routines. But the fun’s not over yet, not by a long shot. We still have our Fort Bragg Paul Bunyan Days Festival to look forward to on Labor Day Weekend — and Winesong, the Mendocino Coast Hospital Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser.
Set in the spectacular Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, Winesong attracts people from all over, who come for the great food, drink, art, live music and more. This year the event features Celebrity Chef Bradley Ogden, who will prepare lunch for VIP ticket holders. As part of the Winesong auction, Mr. Ogden has also donated a chance for 10 lucky individuals to help him prepare and enjoy a fabulous meal. Bay Area celebrity Narsai David will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the auction. More information about the event can be found at www.winesong.org.
Other Foundation fundraising events scheduled this year include: An Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Celebration, hosted by the Little River Inn on September 7, and the Zoppe Family Circus, October 27-28. Earlier this year the Foundation presented a very successful benefit concert by Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen.
We are extremely grateful to Foundation Executive Director Jeri Erickson, her staff, and countless volunteers, for their energetic and creative efforts that over the years have raised several millions of dollars to support our hospital and its operations. And of course, we sincerely appreciate the ongoing support from those in our community who have attended one of the Foundation’s events.
