Medicare Covers America” is a six-part series of 28-minute videos produced by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  Among the topics covered are the new prescription drug benefit, coverage for preventive checkups, and other changes recently implemented through the Medicare Modernization Act.  The videos feature key leaders in Medicare, discuss Medicare facts, and answer frequently asked questions about Medicare.

he current episode is titled, “Medicare Rx: A National Conversation,” and is a town hall-style examination of Medicare Part D, the prescription drug insurance program that went into effect January 1.  In the video, Medicare administrator Dr. Mark McClellan and other experts answer audience questions regarding how Medicare beneficiaries can look for the plan that suits them, and what they should focus on when choosing a plan.

opies of the videos are available through the MCCET website, mccet.mcn.org/copies.  Another helpful resource is the www.medicare.gov website.
