Light Up A Life ceremony a success

Last Thursday evening, December 7th, 2006, the second annual Light Up A Life fundraiser and Hospice event was held in the Patient Services Building at the Hospital.  This year more than 500 stars were purchased for the Memory Trees, and they really looked beautiful.  The Trees will remain on display throughout the Holidays.

The Light Up A Life ceremony was well attended by more than 100 people.  The Glorianna Carolers started the program with some of their Holiday selections; Roberta Belson played her classical harp and accompanied the reciting of all the names on the Memory Trees.  The Trees were then lighted and Danny Barca closed the program with one of his great songs.  Rick Chilton put together the visual presentation of memorial pictures sent in with the star requests and beautiful nature scenes taken of our incredible coast.  Hospice would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this such a successful event, now an annual Hospice tradition.

The MCDH Hospice program provides end-of-life care to anyone in need, and is funded entirely by community donations.  For the Hospice services provided, patients and their families are charged now what they were charged when the program was initiated almost 30 years ago – it is free.  Please remember Hospice when making charitable contributions year round.  Call Arlene Case at 961-4617 for more information.
