Mendocino Coast District Hospital has closed its Diabetic Care Clinic, effective Friday, January 20, 2006 in an effort to preserve the hospital’s core acute care services. This closing date allowed all patients enrolled in the program to complete their services. Individual notification was sent to physicians and current and past patients prior to closure.
CDH remains very committed to diabetic care in our community, and there are multiple ways for diabetic patients to continue to receive care.
CDH Dieticians Lynne Unroe and Lois Senger will continue to see diabetic and pre-diabetic patients at MCDH for nutritional counseling regarding diabetes management (call 961-4744 for an appointment). Further resources for diabetes education and management include services provided by Teresa McDonald, RN, at Mendocino Medical Associates (964-7241), and by Michele Corlette, RN, at Mendocino Coast Clinics (964-1251).
he Diabetic Support Group will continue to meet on the fourth Saturday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Redwoods Room at MCDH.
