I am pleased to report that WineSong, the Hospital Foundation’s major annual fundraiser, raised a record $600,000 on September 7. That’s $100,000 more than ever before. And, there is most good news: bidders gave another $100,000 to the Elwin Cox Memorial Cancer Fund, which provides money to pay for cancer care for those without insurance. My sincere thanks to the generosity of our community (especially the volunteers) and all those who came to WineSong from out of the area to support this important cause.
In the past, WineSong funds have helped buy a new ambulance, a mobile ultrasound for the ER, and a new nuclear medicine camera, which is currently on its way and will soon be installed in the Diagnostic Imaging Center. And these are just a few of the critical technology purchases funded by the Foundation.
Other Foundation fundraising events scheduled this year include: Zoppe Family Circus, October 27-28. Earlier this year the Foundation presented a very successful benefit concert by Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen.
We are extremely grateful to Foundation Executive Director Jeri Erickson, her staff, and countless volunteers, for their energetic and creative efforts that over the years have raised several millions of dollars to support our hospital and its operations. And of course, we sincerely appreciate the ongoing support from those in our community who have attended one of the Foundation’s events.
