This week our Home Health Department officially changed its name to Mendocino Coast Home Health (MCHH), reflecting an organizational change recently approved by our Mendocino Coast Health Care District Board Of Directors. The reorganization divides our Mendocino Coast Healthcare District into two separate divisions: the Hospital and Rural Health Clinic Division, and the Home Health and Hospice Division.
By housing our Home Health Department in a newly created and separate division within the Mendocino Coast Health Care District, we are able to take advantage of Medicare accounting rules that are expected to increase Medicare cost reimbursement by approximately $100,000 per year.
The really great thing about this is that the reorganization allows us to increase revenue without changing our services in any way. The name has changed but our excellent Home Health Department staff remains the same.
Under the direction of Home Health Services Manager Michele Philliber, nursing and support staff provide care in the comfort of the patient’s home. These services can include quality nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapies, medical social services and home health aide care. The department’s professional staff members are trained in many specialties including cancer, cardiac, diabetes, respiratory, newborn, pediatric, orthopedic, rehabilitation and wound/ostomy care.
MCHH has a proud record of providing quality home care to patients on the Mendocino Coast and the surrounding area since 1986. The department may have a new name, but you can continue to count on the same caring, professional service we’ve provided for the last 26 years.
