On Wednesday, July 15 we held our annual Awards Ceremony. As has been our practice for the past 2 years, we use this as an opportunity to honor, not only our employees, but also our volunteers and our medical staff. Many awards were announced on Wednesday night.
Bettie Shandel, an Emergency Department Registered Nurse was named Employee of the Year. In her nomination she was recognized for “Knowledgeable and motivated; reliable and easy to work with; great teacher, calming in a crisis; sweetest person all around!” Other awards during the evening included Dr. John Kerman, MCDH Physician of the Year and Linda Dutcher, MCDH Manager of the Year. We also recognized 2,573 hours of service to our community. Leading the way was 35-year employee, Marsha Green-Smith and 30-year employee Tony Boyd. Both Marsha and Tony work in our laboratory.
